Our Programs

Where democracy is decided.

ADA works where democracy is decided: in the formation of leaders, the conduct of elections, and the accountability of institutions.

Three flagship programs

Designed to reinforce one another.

Our three flagship programs are designed to reinforce one another — fellows strengthen elections, elections feed the forum, and the forum holds power to account.

Leaders

ADA Democracy Fellowship

A 12-month leadership program for emerging African civic leaders. Fellows receive world-class training in democratic governance, mentorship from senior diplomats and practitioners, and funding for a civic project in their home community.

Elections

Election Integrity & Civic Education Initiative

Working with national civil society coalitions, ADA delivers voter education in local languages, trains domestic election observers to international standards, and publishes nonpartisan election guides — because citizens who understand and trust the ballot defend it.

Accountability

African Governance & Accountability Forum

ADA’s annual convening brings together reform-minded officials, civil society, diaspora, and international partners. Every Forum produces a public communiqué of concrete governance commitments — and ADA reports on their progress every year.
